At Amaya, we seek to create clothing that is distinctive, comfortable, and timeless. Our tunics, shirts, and dresses are designed to stand out with exquisite colors and prints, delicate hand embroidery, and exceptional craftsmanship. Our goal is for each piece to be as unique as the woman who wears it. Amaya products are made possible through an extraordinary collaboration with artisans in remote villages of northern India. Our garments are made using centuries-old techniques-from block printing with vegetable dyes to embroidery on silk- a stark contrast to the modern clothing industry. Amaya’s partnership with these villages provides both an outlet for their products and a steady income for these hard-working women and their families. And because of this partnership, Amaya can provide beautiful and unique clothing to women around the world. Amaya was founded over a decade ago by Pam Howard Schaecher, a former international educator with a lifelong passion for textiles. Through Amaya, Pam has sought to preserve ancient crafts and give support to the extraordinary artisans of India, while also educating girls through the company’s Educating for Empowerment program.
