We are three sisters:
Carla, Ornella and Mora Basilotta. We founded the Basilotta clothing brand, and after 10 years in the textile industry, in 2018 we immersed ourselves in the sustainable fashion market looking for alternatives to fast fashion, a fast fashion movement that we already felt so far away.
We are proud to make a cured product where customers don't have to sacrifice style for ethics.
On this path to sustainability, Ornella traveled to the province of Neuquén - Argentina - in search of natural fibers to develop a new collection. There he found a different, but more interesting material: waste from plastic big bags, the sand containers that are used for the activity of fracking (extraction of unconventional oil and gas). Ornella immediately saw this residue as a textile and knew that that was what we were looking for. Thus, with all our commitment to the environment, creativity and innovation, Fracking Design was born, a new impact design brand, where plastic big bags are recycled, transforming them into premium triple impact accessories.
