My idea of drawing patterns for scarves began in 2013 when I prepared for an upcoming art exhibition in Paris. I was thinking about the type of artwork I would create that would best represent my creativity. What would I create that would express my love for design and colors? I was filled with ideas and energy, and for the first time in years, I knew exactly what I was meant to do. I knew I was destined to create something special, something unique and remarkable. And it was that very moment that the “GAYANA ARTASHESYAN” brand was born.
I started from scratch – I didn’t know how to digitize my patterns, I didn’t know what was involved in scarf production, I didn’t know how to run a business, and I had no money. But I did not let those obstacles stand in the way of my dreams and my passion; I was eager to learn everything and to make my vision of creating beautiful, recognizable, and fine scarves a reality. And I did just that.
By the end of 2013, I received my design degree. I had my own art exhibition in Rome. I was featured in several art exhibitions and professional competitions in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Ukraine, Turkey, Gubbio, and Venice, Italy. My paintings were in several private collections worldwide. I had a number of my artwork in museums in Russia, and I am honored to say that one of my paintings currently hangs on permanent display in the Vatican.
After my success in Russia and Europe my personal life brought me to the United States where I now call home. I brought with me my dream of designing the most luxurious scarves and launched my brand GAYANA into the US market.
