KAANAS is a family doing what we love most and do best; produce high quality and socially responsible products that marry playful, feminine design with classic silhouettes. Bold prints and quality craftsmanship define our collections. We design the shoes we wear. We are four sisters and second-generation shoe makers who grew up running around our mother’s shoe factory, helping our father in his shoe stores, begging to attend trade shows, and happily diving into suitcases of samples after our parent’s sourcing trips.
However, the shoe business is tough. We saw factories all around us closing as cheaper, lower quality product flooded the market. We wouldn’t stand by idly, so we founded KAANAS in 2013 to help our family. Today, our entire family is involved in every aspect of the business and every step of the process from design through customer service to make sure you love your shoes.
KAANAS is the culmination of everything we learned growing-up, and we have a borderline unhealthy obsession for what we do. We design and produce each shoe by hand, which unfortunately is a dying art. Lily, our third sister and creative director, has a shoe lace permanently attached to one hand as she runs around the factory working with our shoe makers. We can't help it. It’s a love for our craft that we inherited from our parents. Our father still sleeps with our latest samples on his night stand.
