Our Founder: Joanna MacDonald
The founder of the luxury responsible accessory brand Piper & Skye, Joanna MacDonald, started her interest in fashion design in college however attributes her passion for it to her late grandmother. Joanna’s grandmother instilled many values in her, but the feeling a woman has when carrying a piece of fashion that had been created with genuine purpose was one that stuck with her and help launch Piper & Skye.
This purpose is the driving force behind Piper & Skye’s dedication to inclusion, transparency, and responsibility. Under MacDonald’s guidance, Piper & Skye has produced luxury goods with a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional leather. In addition to Piper & Skye, MacDonald established Safe Transitions in 2020, a not-for-profit whose mission is to move women and children into safe, affordable housing by connecting shelters with landlords. MacDonald continues to infuse her philanthropic spirit with Piper & Skye and believes sustainability is the future of luxury products.
