Our Shelby is the classic eight-panel Irish cap, presented in a slimmer version, reinterpreted in proportions, and enhanced by the detail of the genuine leather button atop the crown and the oval metal pin. The fabric it is made from is a blend of silk, linen, and cotton with a tartan pattern, produced in Italy by the renowned Lanificio Egidio Ferla.

The distinctive design of the fabric, known as Tartan, historically originates from the Scottish Highlands and still today, in those places, defines membership to a clan or a particular family. These fabrics are used to commemorate special events or indicate districts or institutions. In the 1920s, this pattern was adopted and launched by the Prince of Wales, from whom it took its name.

The production of this cap is highly sartorial and still follows traditional techniques today, such as hand cutting, dozens of manufacturing steps, and ironing on wooden forms. This historic artisanal expertise is complemented by technical innovations that assist and accompany the hands of our Salento artisans throughout the production process. It is precisely this synergy, this balanced synthesis between tradition and innovation that gives Doria caps that internationally recognized "touch" and mood, a true specialty and specificity of the brand.
